 School Payment Solutions

Central Kitsap School District has and online payment system  for the Breakfast and Lunch Program.

The  system is called “School Payment Solutions." The system is currently available. There is no charge to establish an account and view history or your student’s breakfast and lunch account. There will still be a transaction fee of $1.75. The new system enables you to view up to a year’s worth of student activity. To register and use the new system you will need the following.

  • Child's School District
  • Child's School
  • Child's Student ID, Birth Date, Address (you can get student id # from school front office or off your child’s report card).
  • A valid email address for your account

In order to complete registration, you are required to add one student to your account. However, once your account is active, you can login and add any number of additional students to your account.

Once you have completed registration, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you specified during registration. You MUST confirm your email address via the instructions in the email in order to activate your account and login for the first time.

If you are ready to begin, go to www.schoolpaymentsolutions.com and click the Green “Get Started – Sign up Now!

Things to know:
  • If you have more than one child in the District you can handle all online prepayments from the same online account.
  • Payments may be made through an existing PayPal account or with a major credit or debit card. Payments made with a credit card can take up to 24 hours to show up in your child’s account. If you prepay using a debit card or e-check, the transaction can take up to a week before it is credited to your student’s account.
  • In order to use the online prepayment service, a small convenience fee for each transaction will be assessed to cover the bank fees. The convenience fee is $1.75 per deposit transaction. Parents placing money into multiple meal accounts will only be assessed the $1.75 fee once per deposit transaction. Central Kitsap School District will not profit from the use of this site.

We are very excited to offer this service and are confident this system will benefit you, your child and our District. However, if you choose not to take advantage of the online prepayment service you may continue to make advance payments via check, which should be made payable to the Central Kitsap School District. Please write your child’s full name on the check.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pay for lunches?

Food Service uses a computer system to maintain student accounts. You can put any amount into your student's account at any time. The appropriate amount will be deducted for each breakfast, lunch or ala cart item that they purchase. Students may also purchase any breakfast, lunch or ala cart item with cash.

With current national attention being focused on children’s health and wellness issues, Central Kitsap School District’s Food Service Department is excited to provide parents a convenient, easy and secure online prepayment service to deposit money into your child’s school meal account at any time. This service also provides parents the ability to view your child’s account balance through a web site called School Payment Solutions (Effective August 1, 2010). By having money in each child’s account prior to entering the cafeteria, we find the lunch lines move along much faster so your child has more time to eat and be with friends.

Click this link or go to https://www.schoolpaymentsolutions.com/Register . From this site you will create your account and add money to your child’s school meal account. All you need is your child’s name, student ID number and school ZIP code.

For more information and directions, please click the tab Pay Online.

When and how do I apply for free or reduced-price meals?

You can apply at any time during the school year. Contact your school's office for a Free and Reduced application or print the application by clicking here. Only one application is required per household. Please return both pages of the application to your school office.

What if my child has food allergies?

The District Health Services Office has a form named, "Diet Prescription for Meals at Schools." This form is available from your school nurse. The form is specific for foods to be omitted and the foods to be substituted. USDA guidelines prohibits the Food Service Program from substituting Foods to students with food allergies unless the allergy is "Life Threatening." We will do our best to accommodate your students needs.

Do students need to take a certain amount of food?

A qualified school lunch includes: Meat/Meat Alternative, Bread/Bread Alternative, Vegetable, Fruit and Milk. Students much choose foods from three of the five food groups to meet the USDA requirements for a school lunch and to be eligible for federal subsidy.

If my child qualifies for a free or reduced lunch can they also get breakfast?

Yes. If your child qualifies for free lunch, he/she can also get a free breakfast. If your child qualifies for a reduced lunch, he/she can also get a reduced-price breakfast.

Can my child purchase a second lunch?

Yes, however, only the first lunch is federally subsidized. If a student purchases a second lunch, they will be charged $3.25.

Can my child purchase an extra entree?

The cost of an additional entree at the elementary school is $2.00. The cost of an additional entree at a secondary school is $2.25.

New USDA Guidelines

In a press release on January 25, 2012, First Lady Michelle Obama and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack unveiled new standards for school meals that will result in healthier meals for kids across the nation. The new meal requirements will raise standards for the first time in more than fifteen years and improve the health and nutrition of nearly 32 million kids that participate in school meal programs every school day. The healthier meal requirements are a key component of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, which was championed by the First Lady as part of her Let's Move! campaign and signed into law by President Obama.  To read the entire press release, please click here.

In addition, the following documents provide more information about the new guidelines.
