Criminal Background Checks for New Employees:
Washington State Law requires that a criminal background check be performed on employees new or rehired to Central Kitsap School District. The check consists of fingerprints submitted to the Washington State Patrol and FBI. Upon hire/rehire, those who do not have current fingerprint clearance through the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) must have a criminal background check completed at the Olympic Educational Service District before the first day of work. This requirement also extends to current substitute employees who are hired into non-substitute positions. The cost of the criminal background check is $75.25 and must by paid by the employee at the time fingerprints are taken, before the first day of work.
