Eric Greene Appointed to School Board
The Central Kitsap Schools Board of Directors appointed Eric Greene Monday
evening to fill the unexpired term of Lee Ann Powers, whose resignation took
effect on June 16. Greene was sworn into office at the regular board meeting on
Wednesday, June 18.
Directors interviewed three applicants Monday in a public meeting. “All of the
applicants were excellent and this was a tough decision,” said President Carl
Johnson. “They all shared a commitment to children and we are grateful for their
interest.”
Greene, who is currently the training readiness, requirements, and exercises
specialist for Commander Navy Region Northwest, said he wants to ensure that all
children in the district have the highest quality education possible.
Greene moved to Washington eight years ago, and has resided in Central Kitsap
School District for the past four years. He has served as a Naval Officer, as a
public school teacher and in other civilian roles with the government.
Greene is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where he
received a bachelor of science in athletic administration and coaching, and
minored in secondary education.
