Early Childhood & School Readiness Resources
CK School District is committed to making connections with local child care
providers and preschools as well as with parents of children ages Birth-5 to
help prepare children for kindergarten. Child care providers, preschool
teachers and directors are invited to meetings in which district personnel and
kindergarten teachers share classroom expectations, recent research in early
childhood education and offer helpful advice to provide a smooth transition into
the public school system. Locations rotate among the district office, CK
kindergarten classrooms and local child care & preschool sites. If you are
interested in hosting a future meeting, please contact Molly Evans or Debbie Allensworth. (contact information below).
For parents of children ages birth to five who have concerns about their child’s development, we provide free developmental screening services called “Child Find.” We screen in the areas of motor development, communication, behavior, self-help and cognitive skills. To learn more, contact Special Services (662-1040) and ask about Child Find.
